Which grade levels are your programs designed for?

Artis Studio offers programs for students in Pre-K through 8th grade. Lessons are thoughtfully adapted to each age group to provide an engaging, age-appropriate creative experience.

How long are art sessions?

Most art sessions are 60 minutes, providing students with ample time to learn new techniques, create meaningful artwork, and enjoy the creative process.

How many weeks does an after-school art club run?

Our after-school art clubs typically run 5–13 weeks, depending on your school's schedule and enrichment calendar. We are happy to work with each school to determine the best program length.

Can we schedule a one-time workshop instead of a full session?

Absolutely! We offer one-time workshops for special events, Fine Arts Weeks, STEAM initiatives, family events, and other school celebrations. Contact us to discuss your ideas, and we'll create an experience that fits your needs.

Do you offer programs during the school day?

Yes! Artis Studio offers both during-school and after-school programming. We'd be happy to discuss your school's schedule and recommend the best option.

Registration & Enrollment

How does student registration work?

We make registration simple for both schools and families. All student registrations are completed securely through the Artis Studio website, minimizing administrative work for your staff.

Who collects registration forms and payments?

Artis Studio manages the entire registration process. Families register online, and payments may be made by invoice, PayPal, Venmo, or check.

Is there a minimum or maximum number of students?

Yes. A minimum of 6 enrolled students is required for a program to run. Maximum enrollment varies depending on the age group and available classroom space.

Can parents register after the program has started?

Yes! If space is available, families may register after the program has begun. Tuition will be adjusted when appropriate.

What Schools Need to Know

Do you provide all art supplies and materials?

Yes. Artis Studio provides all art materials and supplies, so your school does not need to purchase, organize, or store any materials.

Does the school need to provide anything?

We simply ask for a space where students can comfortably create each week. A classroom, art room, cafeteria, or similar space works well. Access to a nearby sink is preferred but not required for every lesson.

Where are classes typically held?

Our programs are flexible and can be held in classrooms, art rooms, cafeterias, libraries, multipurpose rooms, courtyards, or other appropriate spaces available at your school.

Do school staff need to remain in the room during the program?

No. Artis Studio instructors independently manage the program. We simply ask that a designated school representative remain on campus and available in the school office until student dismissal, following your school's standard procedures.

Safety & Professionalism

Are instructors experienced in working with children?

Yes. Artis Studio is led by a Columbia University-trained art educator with years of experience teaching children in both educational and community settings.

Are background checks available if required by the school?

Absolutely. Background checks can be provided upon request and in accordance with your school's requirements.

Is Artis Studio insured?

Yes. Artis Studio carries liability insurance and can provide documentation upon request.

How do you manage classroom behavior?

Artis Studio uses the principles of Conscious Discipline®, a relationship-based approach that emphasizes respect, encouragement, and positive classroom management while helping students develop self-regulation and responsibility.

Curriculum

What types of art projects do students create?

Students explore a wide variety of artistic media and techniques, including drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, mixed media, collage, fiber arts, and more. Lessons often incorporate elements of art history, cultural connections, and creative problem-solving.

Are lessons age-appropriate?

Yes. Every lesson is carefully designed and adapted to match students' developmental abilities while encouraging creativity, confidence, and artistic growth.

Do students complete a new project each week?

Whenever possible, students complete one project during each class. More detailed or advanced projects may span multiple sessions, allowing students to develop new techniques and produce higher-quality artwork they are proud of.

Do your lessons support educational standards?

Yes. Lessons are thoughtfully designed to support age-appropriate visual arts learning objectives while encouraging creativity, critical thinking, and artistic expression.

Tuition & Payment

Who pays for the program—the school or families?

Most after-school art clubs are family-funded through individual student registration. We also work with schools, PTOs, and community organizations interested in sponsoring or funding programs.

Communication

How far in advance should we schedule a program?

We recommend contacting us at least one month before your desired start date to allow time for planning, scheduling, and family registration.

What happens if school is canceled due to weather?

If a scheduled class is canceled because of school closures or severe weather, a make-up class will be added at the end of the session whenever possible.
